How to Connect with your Higher Self (Subconscious Self)
Updated: Nov 16, 2021
If you're interested in changing or improving every single aspect of your life to be the best version of yourself, listen up. The answers to your questions and all the healing you desire lie within you — within your subconscious mind, also known as your higher self or the SC.
The conscious mind is the part of you that deals with reasoning and decision-making, such as choosing which book to read or which home to live in. On the other hand, the subconscious mind carries out your physical and emotional processes without your conscious effort.
The subconscious mind's job is to store and retrieve data so that you respond to circumstances in your life exactly the way you are programmed.
According to cognitive neuroscientists, your subconscious side takes up 95% of your brainpower. That's a lot, especially for a part of us that we aren't aware of on a day-to-day basis.
As you can tell, although the subconscious mind is hidden from your awareness, it very much impacts your behaviors and reactions by manifesting as habits, desires, fears and attachments.
During QHHT sessions, I contact my clients' subconscious to ask questions about their life, purpose, health, other challenges, etc. Although QHHT sessions allow my clients to connect deeply to the subconscious for any healing they desire from their higher selves, my clients will often have questions during their session about how they can contact their subconscious mind or higher self more regularly other than from doing a QHHT session. The higher self responds to this question with love and kindness by saying they are more than willing to communicate to the conscious side on a daily basis. So often, the higher self does communicate with us; however, we fail to see the messages and signs.
You know that "gut feeling" we get about someone, or a job offer, or about making a decision about something important? The higher self of my clients says that the "gut feeling" is the subconscious itself trying to communicate to you through your body. We don't just receive messages from our subconscious through gut feelings, but also in many other ways, as my clients' higher selves have mentioned during their sessions. Here are top ways that we can connect with our subconscious or higher self more regularly:
Meditate daily

Meditation is key to being more in touch with your subconscious mind. During my sessions and the conversations with the subconscious, my clients' first response to how they can be in tune with their subconscious mind more regularly — is to quiet the mind. The more we meditate, the more we are strengthening the connection with our higher selves. There is no right way to meditate. It's just important to quiet your mind and focus on your breathing while you meditate. Whether that's by doing silent, walking, guided, or visualization meditations, whatever you need to do to be present. The more you meditate, the more you quiet the conscious mind, allowing space for the subconscious to communicate to you. Keep up the meditation daily, and you'll start seeing "random" yet powerful messages from the universe and your higher self.
Start journaling

Journaling provides many benefits, including having a space to vent about certain challenges, working through some creative elements, and much more. Journaling is also a great way for allowing the subconscious to come through in your writing. According to my clients' higher selves, we can mediate first to quiet our minds and then start journaling. Write whatever comes to mind. Once you've kept up with this, you'd be surprised by the brilliant ideas or insights into different life decisions you get through your subconscious mind.
Ask for messages in a dream

Dreams can often hold answers to many questions we have about our lives. The more power we give to our dreams, the more our higher selves and the universe will start giving meaningful messages in our dreams. Try getting into a regular habit of meditating before going to sleep and then journaling your dreams the moment you wake up.
So, who’s ready to start tuning in with their higher selves? Because I know I am.
